"I would like to thank you (Dr. Brautbar) for being a part of the Hinkley groundwater contamination case which is now being presented in the movie entitled Erin Brockovich. You were the first treating physician who saw the families who were poisoned by the drinking water and was willing to study the issue of chromium toxicity, examine the patients, and do the initial work-up which was important in bringing this case to a very successful conclusion. Your open-mindedness and willingness to spend time to stand up to the big Goliath's of this world (in this case PGE) is sincerely appreciated by me and I am sure by the Hinkley families. Thank you again."
"God bless you.
I wish the world had more Nachman Brautbar's."

The movie Erin Brockovich aired at a special event at our hometown, Hinkley, and yes the atmosphere was somber and serious... "The movie, Erin Brockovich, made us reflect again and we realize that we were lucky that someone recommended Mr. James Vititoe, an attorney and partner at the Law Offices of Masry and Vititoe. It was Mr. Vititoe who was willing to listen to us and to address issues, and did not turn us down because of fearing the giant, PG&E, and then Mr. Vititoe referred us to the toxicologist Dr. Nachman Brautbar. Dr. Brautbar was understanding and sympathetic to our problem. Dr. Brautbar took the time to listen to us, examine us, and to order the special laboratory studies (which by the way are shown in the movie, Erin Brockovich, by Erin - Julia Roberts, when she talks to Mr. Masry (Albert Finney) about the toxicological data), and it was our luck that Dr. Brautbar had ordered additional testing to include blood chromium levels"...
